Joleen's Starz of the South Performing Arts Studio opened in the summer of 2005. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, with persistence and drive, the studio continues to thrive in the small community of Vancleave, MS.

Joleen Sanders- Owner/Director/Instructor
Joleen Sanders has been dancing since the age of 3 and has always known one day she would be the owner and teacher in her own school. She took class from several different local studios growing up, and in high school discovered that dancing was to become her life. Working in day cares, assisting in dance class, and spending time with children, gave her the experience needed to learn patience to teach in the dance field.

Joleen is a certified dance instructor and member of Dance Masters of America. She attended the DMA Dance Teacher Training School from 1990-1992, at Kent State University in Ohio . She attends several seminars and conventions throughout each year to keep up with the lastest techniques and styles. She has taken classes under many of today's top dance educators in the country.

Before opening the dance studio, she performed in many shows and revues on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, such as, Greg Thompson's Dancin' in the Streets, StageStruck, and Masters of Illusion, Viva Las Vegas, and many others. Joleen has been studying dance for over 30 years, and has been teaching for almost 10. She is thrilled to be able to pass on the love for dance to all of her students.
